What's the age cut-off for each of the military branches?

I'm starting to research my options for after high school, and I've heard that the military branches have different age requirements. Can anyone let me know what the age cut-off is for joining each branch? Thank you so much!

The United States military indeed has age requirements for enlistment, but these can vary between branches. Here's a general rundown of the minimum and maximum ages for enlisting in each branch:

1. The Army accepts recruits who are between the ages of 17 and 35. However, if you're 17, you'll need parental consent.

2. The Navy also allows enlistment between 17 and 35, with the same requirement for parental consent if you're 17.

3. The Air Force has a slightly narrower range: you can enlist between the ages of 17 and 39. As with the others, 17-year-olds will need parental consent.

4. The Marine Corps accepts recruits between 17 and 29, with parental consent needed for those who are 17.

5. Lastly, the Coast Guard accepts recruits between 17 and 31. However, some positions, such as the Coast Guard Reserves, allow enlistment up until age 39.

6. The newly established Space Force draws its personnel from the Air Force, and thus follows the Air Force's age limit, which is between 17 and 39.

It's important to note that these age ranges apply to first-time enlistment. Those who have prior military service may be eligible for certain age waivers. Additionally, the specific age requirements may vary for certain roles within each branch. Always consult with a recruiter for the most current, precise information.
