Searching for Easy but Effective Arts & Humanities Courses

I'm considering studying arts and humanities in college, and I wanted to get some opinions on the 'easiest' courses to take. When I say 'easy', I mean the ones that are maybe less rigorous but nonetheless offer a rich and fulfilling academic experience. Any thoughts or insights on this would be super helpful, considering that I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the many options out there!

It's terrific that you're interested in the arts and humanities. This is such a broad field with a plethora of fascinating disciplines. It's important to remember, though, that what's "easy" often depends on individual interests and skills. For example, a course could be considered 'easy' if it aligns with your current skills and interests.

Art History and Intro to Philosophy classes are generally considered to be approachable for beginners. This is especially true if they don't have prerequisites. Art History courses can be excellent since they offer wide coverage of different periods and styles of art, helping you to develop analytical skills about visual artifacts. Philosophy classes can also be insightful, as they introduce you to major philosophical concepts and ways of thinking.

That said, be wary of considering courses 'easy'. Academic rigor does exist even in introductory courses, as they are designed to establish a base for more advanced coursework. The value of a class often lies more with the excitement and passion it generates in a student, which can motivate continuous learning, rather than with it being 'easy'.

Also, remember every school might label their courses differently. It could be worth taking the time to read a bit more into the course descriptions and syllabi if they’re available or reach out to the professors to discuss your thoughts and questions. This could help you gauge the depth and intensity of courses before you commit to them.
