Need help deciding: Best military branch to become a bodyguard?

Hey, I'm a high school junior and recently I've been contemplating joining the military to gain experience and skills that could help me become a bodyguard in the future. Is there any military branch that is known for training that might be beneficial for this career path? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sure thing, it's wonderful that you're considering a military career to enhance your plans of becoming a bodyguard. One of the most immediate military branches that comes to mind is the U.S. Army. The Army has a Military Occupational Specialty known as Internment/Resettlement Specialist (31E) that involves maintaining the security of confined persons and principles, which would provide you with exceptional experience in managing high stress and potentially dangerous situations.

In the U.S. Marine Corps, you may consider the position of a Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team (FAST) member. Marines in these teams are responsible for security and react to threats against U.S. government installations worldwide, honing many of the skills that are valuable in private bodyguard work.

The Air Force also has a Security Forces specialist (3P0X1) that could align with your long-term goals. They protect, defend, and fight to enable Air Force, Joint, and Coalition missions.

In the Coast Guard, the Maritime Enforcement Specialist (ME) could be a solid match for your goals as they are involved in law enforcement and security operations.

Lastly, the Navy has a Master at Arms rating that would provide experience in a similar vein.

Essentially, any military branch can provide you with a foundation in discipline, physical training, and strategic thinking that would all be valuable in a career as a bodyguard, but the specific roles I mentioned might offer more directly applicable skills and experiences. Good luck!
