Which military branch is toughest to get into?

A little stressed here cause I'm considering joining the military, but I wanna aim high. Does anyone have insights on which military branch is the most competitive/toughest to get into?

The U.S. military comprises six branches: the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Marine Corps, the Coast Guard, and the Space Force, with each having their own distinct entry requirements and challenges.

While it's difficult to definitively state which branch is the toughest to get into, many agree that the Air Force tends to be the most selective when it comes to recruiting standards. This is based on their high insistence on technical skills, and stringent physical and academic requirements.

For instance, the Air Force accepts only candidates with a high school diploma and requires a higher Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) score compared to some other branches. Moreover, recruiters often emphasize the importance of a clean legal record and meeting rigid health, fitness, and weight standards. So, the acceptance rate can be lower than other branches, contributing to the perception of the Air Force being the hardest to join.

However, keep in mind that each branch has distinct missions, roles, training processes, and consequently, varying standards of entrance that may be considered "tough" in their own rights. In the end, the difficulty also depends on the specific job or role you're interested within the branch (e.g., special operations roles tend to have tighter acceptance standards across all branches). Speak with recruiters from all the branches you're interested in to gain more insights, and potentially help you narrow down your options.
