Minimum and Maximum Age for Each US Military Branch?

Hello! Could someone explain the age requirements for all the US military branches? I'm thinking about enlisting after high school, but I'm still pretty young. Would my age affect which service I could join?

Absolutely, I can provide you with that information.

For the Army, the minimum age to enlist is 17 with parental consent, or 18 without it. The maximum age is 34.

In the Navy, you can enlist at 17 with parental consent, or 18 without it. The maximum age to enlist is 34.

For the Air Force, the minimum age to enlist is 17 with parental consent, or 18 without it. The upper age limit is 39.

In the Marines, you can enlist at the age of 17 with parental consent, or 18 without consent. The maximum age to enlist is 28.

For the Coast Guard, the minimum age to enlist is 17 with parental consent, or 18 without it. The upper age limit is 27. However, age waivers can be granted for some positions.

Finally, for the relatively new Space Force, it follows the same age requirements as the Air Force: the minimum age to enlist is 17 with parental consent, or 18 without it, and the upper age limit is 39.

Remember, all branches require a high school diploma or equivalent education, such as a GED. It's always a good idea to check with a recruiter for the most current information and to discuss your specific circumstances. Good luck!
