Starting with North Dakota, you’ll find Minot Air Force Base, which is a U.S. Air Force installation, and about a two-hour drive north of Bismarck, the state capital. The base is known for its two key responsibilities: the 5th Bomb Wing and the 91st Missile Wing. The 5th Bomb Wing supports the Air Force's B-52H Stratofortress bomber force and has missions to provide operating support for bomber and operational training wings. The 91st Missile Wing operates, maintains, and secures a fleet of Minuteman III missiles located in sites across North Dakota.

For the state of Washington, there's a bit more variety.
