Most woman-friendly military branch?

I've been considering a military route post-high school. As a woman, I'm curious as to which military branch might be friendlier or better equipped towards women. Any info on this would be great, thanks!

All U.S. military branches strive to provide equitable opportunities and treatment to servicemen and servicewomen. However, some branches may have a larger women representation or more women-friendly initiatives, which might influence your decision.

For instance, the U.S. Air Force seems to regularly top the list for women representation. According to Department of Defense data, as of 2021, approximately 21% of enlisted members and 23% of officers were women in the Air Force, compared to the total of 17% women across all armed services. The Air Force also has women serving in key leadership roles, which could signify a more inclusive culture.

However, the U.S. Coast Guard also has a reputation for being women-friendly. This branch has a strong commitment to preventing and responding to sexual assault within the service and provides supportive resources. Likewise, The Coast Guard Women's Leadership Initiative was specifically created to support and develop women's essential leadership capabilities.

The relatively new U.S. Space Force could also provide exciting opportunities for women as it values diversity and inclusion as part of its core values. As it's growing and evolving, there might be unprecedented opportunities for women to shape its culture from the onset.

Please remember any military branch requires a serious commitment and comes with its own set of rewards and challenges, so I suggest conducting further research to determine what might be the best fit for your goals and circumstances, including speaking to a recruiter or individuals currently serving in the military branches you're considering.
