Easiest men's sports scholarships to get?

Sports have always been a huge part of my life, and I'm looking into scholarships to help pay for college. I'm open to trying new sports if they could increase my chances of getting a scholarship. Out of curiosity, does anyone know which men's sports typically offer the most scholarships, or are easier to get scholarships in, at universities?

The easier a sport is to earn a scholarship in can really depend on a number of factors such as the number of scholarships available, the popularity of the sport, and the level of competition. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulates the number of scholarships that Division I and II athletics programs can offer, and these numbers do vary from sport to sport.

Generally, sports that are on the more competitive or "watched" side, such as football or basketball, often have a higher number of scholarships available. For instance, Division I football programs are allowed to offer up to 85 scholarships per team. However, given the large roster size and the high level of competition, obtaining one of these scholarships can be quite competitive.

On the other hand, certain sports like fencing, water polo, lacrosse, or even sports like track and field, although they have fewer scholarships available (with numbers typically ranging from 9.9 to 12.6 according to NCAA regulations), may have lower competition, making it comparatively easier to secure a scholarship.

Also, remember that the best way to secure a sports scholarship is to excel in your chosen sport and actively showcase your skills and abilities to college coaches. You can do this through participating in local and regional competitions, attending sports camps and showcases, and reaching out to coaches with your sports resume and video footage of your competitions.

Lastly, keep in mind that most college athletes are not on full scholarships, with the vast majority of scholarships being partial. Therefore, even if you do secure a sports scholarship, it's likely you'll still need additional ways to fund your education, whether through academic scholarships, financial aid, or work-study programs.
