Looking for Easy-to-Get-Into Colleges

Hi all, I know this is probably different for everyone, but I was wondering if anyone has insights about which colleges generally tend to be relatively easy to get into for a Bachelors program? I struggle with standardized tests but my extracurriculars and GPA are decent. Just trying to add some 'safety' schools to my list.

There are certainly colleges out there which could be considered 'safety' schools due to their high acceptance rates. Although, remember, it's crucial to not just look at admission rates, but also ensure that the programs and campus culture align well with your interests and aspirations. Just for starters, I can recommend a few options.

Some state universities often have slightly less rigorous standards for admission than their more prestigious counterparts. For example, Indiana State University and University of Toledo both boast acceptance rates above 90% and offer a wide variety of undergraduate programs.

Open admission colleges are also a great option to consider. These schools accept any high school graduate until their classes or programs are full. Schools in this category would include community colleges and certain online universities.

For a student with a decent GPA and extracurricular involvement, colleges which focus on a holistic admission process might be a good fit, where they examine all aspects of your application, rather than focusing predominantly on test scores. Some examples of these type of universities are Hofstra University, New England College, and Stetson University.

However, remember that each student's situation is unique. It can be beneficial to speak with your school counselor, as they can guide you towards universities that best suit your academic and personal profile. It's also beneficial to visit and research colleges to understand their teaching style, student body, location, and available resources before making a decision. In the end, it’s all about finding the best fit for you! Good Luck!
