Student Demographics at UNLV

I'm thinking about attending UNLV, but I'd like to know a bit more about the student body. Does anyone have some up-to-date info on the school's demographics? I'm pretty curious about the ethnic, geographical, and major breakdowns!

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, often referred to as UNLV, is a diverse and dynamic institution with a wide range of students from different backgrounds.

As of the latest available data, the ethnic and racial profile of the student body is quite diverse. The largest groups include Caucasian students at around 25%, followed by Hispanic/Latino students who make up around 33%. Asian students account for approximately 15%, while Black/African American students make up around 9%. The remainder of the student body includes students who identify as two or more races, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, or other categories.

In terms of geographical distribution, a significant majority of the students hail from Nevada, given that UNLV is a state university. However, the school also attracts students from across the rest of the U.S. and from around the world.

When it comes to majors, Business/Marketing is notably popular, followed closely by Health Professions, Communication/Journalism, and Social Sciences. Of course, the university offers a wide array of majors, so you'll find students pursuing degrees in everything from Biological & Biomedical Sciences to Engineering.

Keep in mind that these demographics are subject to change slightly from year to year as the student population shifts. It's always a good idea to review the most recent common data set released by the university if you want the most up-to-date stats.
