Searching for the easiest literature class to take in college

I have a pretty heavy schedule planned for my first term at college, but I'd like to add a literature requirement. What's considered the 'easiest' literature class to take?

It's important to remember that "easiest" can be quite subjective and depends a lot on your personal interests, strengths, and learning style. For some, a class on modern literature or something like "Introduction to Film as Literature" might be fairly straightforward if you are comfortable with analyzing contemporary themes and enjoy cinematic narratives. These courses often involve reading modern novels or watching and analyzing films, which many students find engaging and thus, less burdensome.

On the other hand, if you have a knack for classical literature, courses such as "Introduction to Shakespeare" or "Greek and Roman Mythology" may play more to your strengths. These classes offer more historical context, which some students find fascinating and easier to remember.

Remember, it's often more enjoyable (and thus seems easier) to take a literature class on a topic you're genuinely interested in. If possible, review the syllabi or course descriptions of the classes you're considering and choose the one that intrigues you most. An enthusiastic professor can also make a significant difference in your course experience, so consider looking up potential instructors and reading their reviews.

Ultimately, the grade you earn in a class often reflects your engagement and effort, and not just the material's presumed difficulty. So, choose wisely based on your interests and learning style.
