Easiest Research and Analysis Class in College?

So I've been browsing my future potential college's course catalogue and I've seen there are several research and analysis courses. I'm a bit nervous about taking one because they sound quite intense. Can anyone give advice on which research and analysis classes are generally easier to handle for someone unused to heavy academic research?

First off, kudos to you for planning ahead! You're right that research and analysis courses can be quite challenging, they generally require a considerable amount of time and commitment. However, the perceived difficulty can depend a lot on your background and individual strengths.

Generally, introductory level research and analysis classes are designed to be more manageable and provide you with the foundational knowledge and skills you'll need for more advanced classes in the field. For instance, courses like "Introduction to Statistical Analysis" or "Principles of Research Methods" could provide you with a good foundation while being less complex than some higher level classes.

Sometimes, the “easiest” class might be within your major or a field you're passionate about, because you'll likely find it more interesting and engaging, which can make the work seem less burdensome. For example, if you're a psychology major, you might find "Research Methods in Psychology" easier than 'Statistical Methods in Economics'.

Keep in mind though that instructors can make a big difference in course difficulty. If possible, take a look at instructor ratings and comments on websites or ask your academic advisor or upperclassmen about the teaching styles and expectations of different professors.

Lastly, remember that being challenged can be a good thing. It's often the courses that push us that we learn the most from. Importantly, these essential research and analysis skills are something that will be incredibly valuable in many different careers after you graduate. Best of luck in making your decision!
