Which major is the easiest to get into Boston College?

I'm seriously considering Boston College for my undergrad but I've heard it can be pretty competitive. So, I'd like to know - are there any particular majors that are statistically easier to get into? I'd love any input to help make this process a bit less daunting.

While it's not unusual to be curious about the "easiest" major to get into at competitive schools like Boston College, it's important to note that at many universities, including this one, applicants are admitted to the college as a whole, rather than to a specific major. What this means is that Boston College doesn't generally admit students based on their intended major, but rather uses a comprehensive review process that takes into account academic records, standardized test scores (if submitted), letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, and personal essays.

That being said, it might actually be counterproductive to select a major solely based on perceived ease of admission. Majors should ideally align with your personal interests and career goals, so choosing one merely because it might be "easier" could lead to dissatisfaction in your classes or difficulties later on when pursuing a career.

Furthermore, should you decide to switch majors - which isn't uncommon among undergraduates - you could potentially face more stringent requirements and prerequisites in the major you truly want to pursue. It's always a good idea to aim for authenticity in your college applications and identify courses and programs that truly match your interests.

Boston College provides a diverse range of majors across a number of departments, from Business and Economics, to English and Philosophy, to Physics and Biology. It would be beneficial for you to delve into what each major offers, perhaps attend a few open days or talk to current students or alumni if possible, and make your decision based on what truly motivates you.

When all said and done, your passion and commitment to your chosen field is often what stands out in your application and is ultimately more likely to make a positive impression on an admissions committee. Good luck with your decision!
