Easier college majors for a balanced life?

Hey all, need some advice here. I've been stressing about college and picking the right major. I value having free time for hobbies and socializing, so I'm hoping to find a major that's a bit more manageable. So, any suggestions for 'easier' college majors, where workload and course complexity are more forgiving?

It's important to note that the workload of any major can greatly vary between colleges and even between professors in the same major at the same college. That said, there are some majors that are typically reported by students to have lighter workloads. Understand that your passion and aptitude for a subject will also impact how 'manageable' you find it, as studying something you enjoy or are naturally good at can mean less time spent struggling to understand the material or force yourself to study.

1) Communications: This major typically involves coursework in written and spoken communication, public relations, journalism, digital media, and advertising. It can be quite engaging and usually doesn't involve heavy workload compared to more technical majors like engineering or science.

2) Business Administration: This is a broad-based major that covers a variety of business areas such as marketing, management, finance, and economics. Workload can be relatively light especially in the earlier years of study.

3) English Literature: This major is reading and writing-intensive, but the flexibility in selecting your literature courses could allow for a manageable schedule. If you enjoy reading and writing, you may find this less 'work' in a traditional sense.

4) Sociology: As a social science, sociology involves the study of human society and social behavior, which can be both interesting and less technical compared to natural sciences.

5) Psychology: While it can have more technical parts (like statistics and experimental design), many areas in psychology such as social, developmental, and abnormal psychology are more about understanding and interpreting human behavior than solving complex equations.

6) Education: If you're interested in teaching, this major tends to have a lighter coursework load and also includes field experiences which can be enjoyable for those who like to work with students.

Remember though, the 'easiest' major is often one that aligns with your interests and talents. Doing what you enjoy can make studying feel less like 'work.' It's also worth noting that your choice of major doesn't necessarily dictate your career, many positions look for transferable skills which can be developed in a variety of fields. So, finding a balance is key - choose something you love, but make sure it aligns with your academic strengths and future career goals.
