California easy-entry colleges?

I live in California and would much prefer staying in state for college. Could anyone provide some insight on which are the easiest colleges to get into here? I'm not a highly competitive student, but I still want to further my education.

Sure, I'd be happy to give some insight. Before we start, remember that every college has unique aspects that may appeal to different students, so be sure to research each institution to see if it fits your needs.

1. California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB): CSUB is one of the non-impacted campuses in the CSU system, meaning it accepts all qualified applicants who apply. They have a comprehensive set of undergraduate programs and a vibrant student life.

2. Humboldt State University: This school, also part of the CSU system, is located in Arcata, California, a small town nestled between redwoods and the Pacific Ocean. If you like a close-knit community and a commitment to sustainability, this might be a good fit. Their acceptance rate is typically higher than other CSUs.

3. Southern California Institute of Technology (SCIT): SCIT is a technical college located in Anaheim, which offers focused training for careers in business and technology. It also has an open admission policy, meaning all students who apply, and meet the minimum requirements, are accepted.

4. Woodbury University: Located in Burbank, this university offers career-focused programs in business, architecture, and design. It has a relatively high acceptance rate.

These are a few of the colleges in California that could be easier to get into relative to more competitive institutions, like the UCs or more impacted CSUs. However, all these universities are test-blind, which means that SAT or ACT scores do not affect your chances of admission, so you have a level playing field.

Remember that ease of admission should not be your only criteria. Evaluate each college based on how well it fits your career aspirations, interests, and financial circumstances. Visiting campuses, talking to alumni, or attending virtual information sessions can be very informative.
