Emory College suggest students! I'm planning to take up a couple of summer classes but also want to enjoy my break. If you've taken any easy yet interesting summer classes, let me know your suggestions. I'm open to different subject areas, so share away!

Responding as a college admission counselor, I'd strongly recommend you take this opportunity to explore some courses outside of your major that could potentially enrich your overall academic experience. While I'm not at liberty to recommend specific courses (as the term 'easy' can vary considerably depending on individual student strengths, interests, and prior background knowledge), I can still provide some useful general advice.

First, consider your personal interests. If you're into literature, taking a summer course in a genre or subfield you love can be both enjoyable and not overly demanding. For instance, a class on modernist poetry can be simultaneously challenging but fascinating.

Second, think about classes that could broaden your academic perspective. For instance, if you're a STEM student, taking a course in philosophy, sociology, or history can provide a valuable alternative view of the world, and vice versa. Again, while these can sometimes be demanding, they offer engaging insight and perspective.

Third, practical or skill-based courses can be a good choice. For example, you may find programming courses, project management, or digital design to be fun and useful, especially if they closely align with your career aspirations.

Lastly, remember the elements that can make a course 'easy' often go beyond the subject matter itself. Aspects such as the teaching style of the professor, course structure, your peers' insights, and your enthusiasm and interest in the subject can all contribute to how straightforward a course feels for you.

Before finalizing your decision, I strongly advise you to check the course syllabus or course descriptions and chat with students who've previously taken these classes. Good luck with your choices! Enjoy the summer session, make the most of your learning, and find the right balance between academics and relaxation.
