Most Manageable Language Course at Hunter College?

I've got my eyes on Hunter College and I know for sure that I need to take a language class as part of the core curriculum. For those who have been there or know about it, could you recommend the easiest language course at Hunter College? 'Easiest' for me means a course where I can do well while balancing my other classes. Thanks!

Choosing a language for a core curriculum requirement largely depends on your personal interests, previous exposure to the language, and how much effort you're willing to put into learning it. Therefore, the "easiest" language can significantly vary from one student to another.

That said, certain languages are often considered less complex for native English speakers. For example, Romance languages like Spanish and French have many cognates with English, making vocabulary somewhat easier to pick up. Also, their grammatical structure is often considered less daunting compared to languages like Russian or Arabic.

Hunter College offers a range of language courses including Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, and more. From my insights, many people find Spanish courses manageable because of its grammatical similarities to English and the abundance of resources available for practice. But remember, the course will still demand your time and effort to excel in it.

Please note that language learning is highly subjective and it's crucial that you consider your respective comfort and interest levels. An "easy" language course you're not interested in could turn out to be more challenging than a comparatively "difficult" language that you're enthusiastic about. Also, consider the professor teaching the course, as an engaging and supportive instructor can make even a challenging language more manageable to learn. It's advisable to check out professor ratings and syllabus content where possible.

Whichever language you decide to study, make sure to take advantage of the resources Hunter College offers, such as language labs, tutoring, and conversation groups. Good luck!
