Searching for some easy class suggestions at Miami University

Just got accepted into Miami University, and I'm super thrilled about the journey that lies ahead. But yeah, I also have my fair shares of first-year jitters. Anyone have any suggestions for classes there that are considered less intense or easier to manage?

Congratulations on your acceptance to Miami University! It's perfectly normal to feel a bit overwhelmed at the start, but remember that in college just as high school, your course load will come down to your personal strengths and how much time you're willing to devote to each subject.

That said, within the Miami community, there's a reputation that some classes may be less intense. If you're into Art, consider taking ART 111 - Visual Fundamentals. It exists to provide non-art majors a comprehensive understanding of the principles of art and covers various Western art periods. Plus, it's often mentioned as being enjoyable and manageable.

For a unique science credit, consider GLG 115 - Environmental Geology. It covers fascinating topics like natural disasters and climate change, and students often find it to be engaging without being unreasonably challenging.

A popular humanities gen ed is FSW 261 - Diverse Family Systems Across the Life Cycle. It covers a broad range of topics related to family systems, cultures, and life cycles, and students generally find it manageable and interesting.

If you're more into literature, ENG 111 - Introduction to Literature, is typically known as a class where the workload is balanced and the content is engaging.

Just remember that "easy" can be subjective. What might be easy for one person may be difficult for another depending on their strengths and interests. Reach out to academic advisors or upperclassmen once you're on campus for more personalized advice. Best of luck, and enjoy your first year!
