University of Tennessee easy gen eds?

I'm high school junior, and I've been doing college research. The University of Tennessee has caught my eye, though I still want to have time for my extracurriculars. Can anyone recommend which gen ed classes at UT are the least demanding? TIA!

Certainly, it's always a smart plan to balance out your schedule so that you can continue participating in extracurriculars you enjoy. At the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (I'm assuming that's the campus you're looking at), you will have several general education courses to select from.

1. Introduction to Sociology (SOCI 120): This class is often recommended as one of the easier general requirements. It gives an overview of basic sociological principles and how they relate to daily life.

2. Intro to World Religions (RELI 205): This course delves into a variety of the world's major religions, providing an introductory understanding and is known for being relatively straightforward.

3. One of the American or British Literature classes, such as English 251 or 252. These courses generally require reading but the workload is considered manageable by many students.

4. General Psychology (PSYC 110): This class, like Intro to Sociology, provides a basic understanding of psychological principles. Often considered a relatively relaxer course.

Please note that the perceived difficulty of a class can vary greatly depending on factors like your personal strengths, interests, the specific professor teaching the course, and so on. Experiences can differ so it is always a good idea to read some student reviews or speak with current students to get more perspectives.

Also, remember not to solely base your course selection on ease. Choosing classes that you find interesting or align with your future career goals can make them feel less like work and ensure your education is a valuable investment. Best of luck as you continue to explore colleges and courses!
