Which military branch is associated with The Citadel?

Hey guys, I was curious about The Citadel, the military college in South Carolina. Do any of you know if it's associated with a specific branch of the military, or is it just generally a military-focused institution? I'm trying to understand my options and any info would be appreciated, thanks!

The Citadel, also known as The Military College of South Carolina, is not specifically affiliated with one particular branch of the U.S. Military. Instead, it offers a military-focused education and prepares its students for various sectors of life including military service, but its graduates can choose to join any branch of the military that they prefer. It offers training programs through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) for all branches of the military which are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard which prepare students for active duty or reserve service after graduation.

A substantial percentage of students each year do choose to commission into the military after graduation, either in active duty or reserve roles. Choosing to commission is not a requirement though; many graduates choose to pursue civilian careers directly after graduation. That flexibility allows students to get the benefits of military-style discipline and leadership training, whether they plan to serve in the military or not.

It's important to keep in mind that while The Citadel does provide a rigorous, military-style education, it's not the only pathway to commissioning in the military. The U.S. has several federal service academies for each branch as well as hundreds of ROTC programs at colleges across the country. The pathway you choose depends on your personal goals and preference.
