Seeking Penn State Info

Hey guys, I'm seriously considering applying to Penn State University Park. Wondering if any current students or alumni could shed some light on what some of the easier class options might be? Don't wanna drown in work from the jump, you know?

Certainly, it's a practical approach to want to balance out your initial course load while you adjust to the new environment. It's important to keep in mind, however, that "ease" of a course can be very subjective and depends on your strengths and interests.

That being said, there are a few courses at Penn State University Park, from various fields, that students have commonly found manageable:

1. ASTRO 001: Introductory Astronomy. This is a broad overview of astronomy topics which many students find engaging and not overly challenging.

2. KINES classes: These are attractive for students because they incorporate physical education and wellness tasks. This might be more demanding on your time but less so on academic rigor, depending on how comfortable you are with physical activities.

3. INART 115: The Popular Arts in America. A course examining popular music, television, and films in American culture. The material can be quite interesting if you're into pop culture.

4. BBH 101: Introduction to Biobehavioral Health. This class covers general wellness topics and is often recommended for students interested in health but wanting a lower-stress course.

Remember to meet with your academic advisor once you're at Penn State. They can also give you advice tailored to your situation and your degree plan. Keep in mind, even though these classes might be perceived as 'easier', you'll still need to put in the effort to do well in them. Balancing out rigorous classes with some of these can help you transition smoothly into college coursework.
