Easiest course in university

Hi guys! I'll be applying to colleges later this year and have started thinking about what classes to take. So, out of all the courses you've heard about or experienced, what's the easiest one? Maybe something that's considered a 'bird course'? Info would help a lot in planning my potential course load!

Your question about the "easiest" courses is a bit subjective and it often varies depending on a student's abilities and interests. What might be easy for one student might not be for another. However, it's very common for students to look for less demanding courses to balance out their schedule, especially when they are taking intense major-specific courses.

For students inclined towards the humanities, introductory courses in topics they're personally interested in—like Art History, Intro to Psychology, or certain language and culture courses, can often feel less demanding due to the nature of the content and assessments (like writing and open-book exams).

For students more interested in science or math, classes like Astronomy, Intro to Environmental Science, and Stats for Non-Majors are often cited as manageable. They usually involve fascinating topics, applied learning and there's often less extensive pre-requisites knowledge needed than for many other science courses.

Many universities also offer unique courses like "History of Rock and Roll," "Wine Appreciation," or "Intro to Acting" which tend to be popular 'bird courses.'

It's also a great idea to check out student forums or rate my professor websites for insights on course difficulty at your specific school, as it often varies. Keep in mind that even if a class is typically "easy," it might not be if the specific professor teaching it is known for a challenging grading style.

I always recommend taking courses that interest you though. Try to find a balance between rigorous classes for your major, and classes that will give you new perspectives or enjoyment. Even if a course is known to be difficult, if you are passionate about the subject, you are more likely to put in the work and do well in it. Remember, the goal of college isn't simply to get easy A's—it's to explore your academic passions, challenge yourself, and prepare for your future career.
