Easiest Classes at the University of Cincinnati?

Hi there, I'm going to the University of Cincinnati next year. Does anyone have recommendations on courses that aren't too difficult when I'm just getting started? Trying to keep a manageable schedule while adjusting to college life.

While it's understandable to want to ease into the college routine with a manageable workload, it's equally important to remember that the intent of college courses is to challenge and educate you. However, I can certainly try to help, keeping your requirements in mind.

- HIST 1002: United States History I - This course explores contact among North American Indigenous peoples, Europeans, Africans, Latino/as, and Asian/Pacific Americans and the complex societies and cultures that developed from the period of contact through the expansion of North American colonies in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. While there are a few writing assignments, students interested in history could find this material engaging and thought-provoking.

- ARTH 1014: Art Appreciation - This course is designed as an introduction for non-majors to the visual arts, through the study of media, processes, technologies, styles, cultures, and concepts in the cabin area for visual art.

- EVST 1194: Religion and Climate Change - This course explores relevant texts from religious and spiritual traditions from around the world, as well as works by scholars aimed at shedding light on religion, science, and climate change. The course ultimately aims to enhance our understanding of the spiritual and religious dimensions of the environmental crisis and the possible ways to overcome it.

Remember, these courses may not feel easy based on your skills and interests —but overall, students have found that these courses provide a rewarding learning experience. So, don't focus only on the easy grades, but also on valuable learning experiences and skill development.

Your academic advisor can also be helpful when planning your schedule and providing insights on various courses and professors. Good luck with your class selection and enjoy your time at the University of Cincinnati!
