Looking for 'easier' courses at University of Oregon

Hi guys. I'm going to be starting at the University of Oregon and I'm trying to figure out my class schedule. What are some classes at UO that are considered less challenging? Not trying to cruise through uni, but trying to balance my workload well!

Balancing your course load is an intelligent strategy, especially as you adjust to university life. For University of Oregon, the perceived "ease" or "difficulty" of a class often depends on your personal interests, strengths, and major requirements. However, some courses have a reputation for being less challenging from student feedback.

1. ENVS 203: Intro to Environmental Studies (Humanities) - Known for having approachable material and fair grading. The course explores ecological, social, political, and economic dimensions of environmental issues. For students who enjoy humanities or social sciences, this class will likely be manageable.

2. J 205: Gateway I: Media Issues & Topics - This journalism course is said to be straightforward and engaging, as it covers fundamental elements of media.

3. COLT 101: Global Contexts - This course is part of Comparative Literature and is readily recommended as accessible for a wide range of students. It provides a broad introduction to fundamental questions of human existence, focusing on ways culture shapes understanding and expression.

4. PS 204: Introduction to Comparative Politics - Politically-inclined students find this course manageable as it explores systems of government, electoral systems, democratization and political culture around the world.

5. REL 211: Understanding the Bible - For those legitimately interested in religious studies, it provides a detailed overview of the Bible and connects well with students from many different backgrounds.

Remember, what's considered "easy" varies greatly from student to student. It always helps to research each class and professor, too. Check for course reviews or reach out to upperclassmen who have already taken these classes for their advice on the workload and content. Good luck with your scheduling!
