Recommendations for Easier Electives at UofA?

I'm headed to the University of Alabama soon and I'm trying to compile a list of less intense elective courses to consider. Anyone here with experience willing to share some advice?

Absolutely, there's a multitude of lighter elective courses at the University of Alabama that you can opt to take, depending on your interests. Here are a few that have often been recommended as not overly demanding:

1. NEW 100 – Intro to New College: This course can be a great starting point for freshman. It's more of a 'get to know the college' course which can be helpful to ease into the academic lifestyle on campus.

2. TH 114 – Public Speaking: This course can improve your public speaking skills which is beneficial for myriad reasons including enhancing communication skills and boosting confidence.

3. EN 200 – Introduction to Creative Writing: If you enjoy writing, this course might be appreciated. It exposes students to different forms of creative writing, which makes it engaging and not super demanding.

4. BER 345 – Personal Finance: This elective is excellent because not only is it fairly accessible but you'll also learn useful and practical skills related to managing personal finances.

5. MUS 121 – Intro to Music Listening: For those who have a penchant for music, this course might be up your alley. It's pretty relaxed and lets you engage with a variety of music.

Remember balance is key when selecting your courses each semester. It's great to have a mix of more demanding core courses with milder electives to prevent burning out. Enjoy your time at UofA!
