Question about Washington University in St. Louis

I just finished my sophomore year and I'm thinking about applying to Washington University in St. Louis. I heard it's pretty selective, but are there any schools or programs within the university that are considered easier to get into than others?

Washington University in St. Louis is indeed quite selective with a competitive admissions process. It has a number of schools including the College of Arts & Sciences, Olin Business School, McKelvey School of Engineering, Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, and College of Architecture.

However, it's important to note that admissions aren't necessarily easier for one college over another within the university because the admissions office typically looks at the whole applicant—your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation rather than solely focusing on which particular school or program within the university you're applying to.

Additionally, the selectivity of the different schools can vary year by year based on the number and quality of applicants they get. That being said, you should apply to the school or program that best fits your academic interests and career goals, rather than selecting a school or program based on perceived selectivity. Following your passion and demonstrating a strong interest and potential in your desired field is often looked upon favorably in the admissions process.

Finally, regardless of the specific school or program you are targeting, attending an information session, reaching out to current students or faculty, or visiting campus can also provide you with a lot more insight and context into the academic opportunities and culture of the university.
