Easiest universities to apply to in the USA?

Hello! I am a junior trying to figure out which universities are relatively easier to apply to in the US. I am not necessarily talking about going for a 'safe school', but more about the application process that doesn't involve too exhaustive requirements. Any insight would be great!

Based on your question, you're looking for colleges where the application process is more streamlined and less rigorous. It's important to note that while these schools might have a relatively easy application process, it does not imply that they lack in academic quality or reputation.

1. Rolling Admissions: There are many colleges and universities that have a rolling admission policy. This means they review applications as they come in and typically continue accepting applications until all spots in an upcoming class have been filled. Schools like Michigan State University, University of Arizona, and Penn State University operate this way. You will generally get your decision in a relatively short span of time, which adds to the convenience.

2. Open Admissions: Then, there are a considerable number of universities that use an open admissions policy, especially among community colleges. These usually have an application process that only requires a high school diploma or GED. Institutions like the City University of New York (CUNY), Houston Community College, and Salt Lake Community College fall into this category.

3. Test Score Optional/Flexible: Since the pandemic, more colleges began to adopt test-optional or test-flexible policies, and some have decided to continue this practice. While some may still require an essay or other supplemental materials, removing the need for standardized test scores can simplify the application process. Notable examples include University of Chicago, New York University, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

4. Colleges with No Supplemental Essays: Lastly, some schools do not require any supplement essays, which can be a relief during application season. Schools like Northeastern University, Middlebury College, and Wesleyan University fall into this category.

Do keep in mind that even "easy" colleges to apply to still require a lot of thought and dedication to complete your application, so it's important to not underestimate the process. And always remember to consider fit - do the school's offerings, values, and programs connect with your interests and goals? That's an essential part of the application process.
