Capella University: can you advise on easier classes?

Hi guys, I'm planning to apply to Capella University. I was wondering if anyone has any insight into which courses might be a little less intense. Just trying to create the most balanced schedule possible. Thank you.

Choosing classes at any university, including Capella, can indeed be a bit of a balancing act. You want to ensure that you're meeting your degree requirements but also that you're not overextending yourself.

Capella University is focused on providing adult learners with flexible, personalized online education. Because of this online, competency-based approach, the difficulty of each course can often depend on your personal strengths and prior knowledge in a subject area.

That being said, all courses are designed to be rigorous and challenging; they're geared toward helping students gain the skills and knowledge needed in their field. There's no definitive list of "easy" classes per se. Difficulty can be very subjective and what seems easy to one person might not to another — it really depends on your previous experiences, learning style, and professional background.

However, there is a strategy you might consider to create a balanced schedule. Try to mix and match your courses so that you have a balance between subjects that come naturally to you and those that are more challenging. This way, you can devote more attention to the areas you find difficult without feeling overwhelmed.

For instance, if you are comfortable with writing and communication, you might find courses like COM1150 - Introduction to Digital and Information Literacy or ENG1250 Introduction to Technical and Business Writing more manageable if you have strengths in the humanities or written communication. If you are more inclined towards mathematics and/or history, you might find MAT1150 Essential Math for Everyday Life or ECO1050 Microeconomics easier.

Again, be sure to review the course descriptions to get a feel for what topics will be covered and if those align with your strengths. Additionally, don't be afraid to reach out to academic advisors at Capella. They would likely have insight into the course workload and can help you craft your schedule for a balanced load.

Best of luck in crafting your schedule and your studies at Capella University!
