Easy-going Class Recommendations for DePaul University?

DePaul University is on my list, but I'm nervous about potentially overwhelming course load. Do any of you have recommendations for classes there that might be a tad lighter on the workload?

Sure, I understand your concerns about maintaining a manageable course load at DePaul University! When it comes to lighter coursework, it often depends on your major and interests, as perceived difficulty can vary by student. However, based on what I've heard from various students, below are a few courses considered to be less strenuous.

1. SOC 101: Introduction to Sociology - This is considered a broad-scope, general education class that provides an overview of sociological concepts. It's mostly lecture-based and typically requires some light reading and few exams.

2. GAM 205: Games Literacy - This class is said to be quite engaging and interesting. There's some light reading involved and the assignments are often based on discussions and personal analysis.

3. MGT 300: Managerial Concepts and Practices- A broad introduction to the field of management, this class places emphasis on theories and practices relevant to managers in today's business world. Often composed of discussion, presentations and a few group projects, it doesn’t tend to be too heavy.

4. PE 100: Various Fitness Classes - These can be a great break from traditional academics. You can choose from a variety of physical activity choices -- from yoga to basketball.

Just remember, “easy" is highly subjective and depends largely on your strengths and interests. A music major might find a music history class to be an easy A, but someone without that background might struggle.

It's always a good idea to mix more demanding classes with those you think might be lighter to balance your workload. And make sure to reach out to your academic advisor at DePaul, as they’ll have additional insights into which classes might be a good fit for you based on your major and interests.
