NY resident here! Recommendations for easier New York universities?

Hi there! I'm a junior right now and starting to think about colleges. I'd really like to stay in New York for uni, but my stats are kinda average. Does anybody know which universities in New York are generally more accepting/ easier to get into for students like me?

Absolutely, I've got several recommendations for you!

1. First off, there's the State University of New York (SUNY) system, which contains a wide array of colleges all across the state. Schools like SUNY Albany, SUNY Oswego, and SUNY Purchase have acceptance rates ranging from 50-60%, which might be beneficial to you.

2. A school in the city that comes to mind is Pace University, which has an acceptance rate of about 88%. It offers a diverse selection of programs, from business to the performing arts.

3. There's also St. John's University in Queens, which is well-regarded for its programs in areas like business, education, pharmacy, and arts and sciences. It's relatively large, and has an acceptance rate of around 65%.

4. Queens College - This is part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, which offers a wide range of programs and has an acceptance rate of about 69%. You can consider other CUNY colleges as well.

5. Buffalo State College - Another SUNY school, Buffalo State College has an acceptance rate of 86% and is considered a less competitive school to get into.

Do keep in mind though, while these schools might be a little easier to get into, you'll still want to put your best foot forward in your applications. Craft compelling essays, seek out strong recommendation letters, and try to demonstrate your interest in the school and how you'll fit into their community. And even as you aim for these schools, consider applying to a couple of reach schools as well, you never know what might happen! Good luck with your college search!
