Acceptance rates for different colleges within USC?

Hey everyone, I've always aspired to study at USC. With the application season looming, I figured I need to get more strategic about this whole thing. That said, I'd be extremely grateful if someone could provide info on which colleges or departments within USC generally have higher acceptance rates compared to others. Don't worry, I'm not trying to take it easy, I'm just trying to be tactical!

The University of Southern California (USC) is a large, diverse university offering many different areas of study across its various schools and departments. Generally speaking, it can be challenging to provide exact acceptance rates for each individual school or department, because USC (like many other universities) does not publish acceptance rates broken down by individual school or major.

However, it's commonly perceived that some programs at USC are more competitive than others due to high demand and limited spots. For example, certain undergraduate programs like the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Acting from the School of Dramatic Arts and the Bachelor of Music programs in the Thornton School of Music are highly selective due to their conservatory-style nature with very limited spots available.

Similarly, the Iovine and Young Academy's B.S. in Arts, Technology, and the Business of Innovation is an extremely competitive program, given its unique interdisciplinary concentration.

On the other hand, larger colleges within USC, like the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, may have slightly higher acceptance rates, given their broad range of study options and larger size.

That being said, it's important not to base your college application strategy solely on acceptance rates. Instead, consider which areas of study at USC best align with your passions, interests, and career goals. USC is known for its interdisciplinary studies, and applying for a major you are genuinely interested in, can not only improve your chances of acceptance but also ensure your potential success and satisfaction with your university experience.
