Ok so UPenn is definitely on my radar - the prestige, the campus, the opportunities... But I'm a bit stuck, program-wise. For any Quakers out there or anyone in the know, what majors is the University of Pennsylvania really stellar at? I've heard about Wharton, but are there other areas they excel in that I should consider?
Absolutely, Penn has a robust selection of programs beyond just Wharton! While Wharton is their claim to fame especially for business and finance, Penn also has excellent programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, particularly in the biological sciences, and the School of Engineering and Applied Science, where their computer and information science programs are top-notch. Their Nursing School is also one of the best in the nation, if you're leaning towards healthcare. Plus, Penn's interdisciplinary approach lets you blend different fields of study - like the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology that combines engineering and business. If you're uncertain, take advantage of the One University Policy which allows undergrads to take courses across all four schools. It's a fantastic way to sample different disciplines before you declare your major. Just remember to look into the specifics of each program to see how they align with your interests and career goals!
