Choosing Easy College Courses

I am an upcoming freshman studying at Joliet Junior College. I would like some advice from seniors or alumni. Which is the easiest math or science course to take, from your experience?

I would like to start by saying that the term "easy" can be pretty subjective, as what one student may find easy, another might find incredibly difficult. You should ideally select subjects that interest you and align with your career or educational goals. That said, I understand that certain requirements may not necessarily spark interest and you may prefer to maintain a manageable workload.

In the context of math courses, many students report that College Algebra or Math for Liberal Arts tend to have more straightforward concepts than other advanced math courses.

In regards to science courses, Environmental Science and Introductory Biology are often considered less intensive, especially for students not majoring in a science-related field. Remember, however, that many science courses have associated lab work which can add to your course load.

Do keep in mind that tutor support, office hours, and study groups can greatly assist in understanding even the more complex subjects. Ensure you utilize these resources to make any subject manageable.

Remember, college can be as much about stretching your comfort zone and exploring new areas as it is about choosing easy courses. Consider your interests, future career plans, and overall academic goals when selecting courses.

Most importantly, make sure you meet with your academic advisor to discuss your course options, as they will have a great understanding of the curriculum and can give you personalized advice.
