Advice Needed on Balance and Easiest Classes at Lane Community College

I'm in the process of choosing my classes for next semester at Lane Community College. I've heard some horror stories about online learning being super intense and I'd like to balance my load. Anyone have suggestions for less strenuous courses that still offer some learning bites?

Sure, I understand your concern. Ideally, you want courses that promote learning but aren't overly challenging.

Firstly, remember that everyone has different strengths and interests, so what might be easy for one student might not necessarily be easy for another. Something that can help is sticking to subject areas that you already have some knowledge or interest in, as you might find those classes more engaging and less strenuous.

One option can be introductory courses that are designed for students without any prior experience in the subject. These types of classes, such as Intro to Sociology or Art Appreciation, typically provide a broad overview of the material without zooming into highly complex topics.

Communications courses also often get good feedback, as they often focus on practical skills like public speaking or professional writing that students find useful in any profession.

Lastly, some students find that classes in Psychology, specifically intro-level courses, strike a good balance between educational and manageable. However, this can be highly personal, and your mileage may vary.

Remember, while it's important not to overburden yourself, it's also crucial not to shortchange your own learning journey. Choosing classes that align with your future career or academic goals, in addition to being manageable, might serve you well in the long run. You may also want to communicate with instructors or counselors who have better insight into the course load and can help you decide on your classes. Be confident in your capacity to learn and grow! Good luck with your class selection!
