Recommended 'easier' private colleges in San Diego?

Hello people, I'm in a bit of a bind. I've got my heart set on studying in San Diego and I've been looking at private colleges there. I'm not one for super competitive programs, so do you guys know of any private colleges in San Diego that are known to have a slightly more relaxed acceptance criteria?

Absolutely, there are a few private colleges in San Diego that offer a more approachable application process.

One of those is the University of San Diego (USD) – not to be confused with UC San Diego. The University of San Diego operates under a more holistic admissions approach, seeking students who show promise both academically and personally. While USD's acceptance rate isn't incredibly high, it does fall in that moderate range, making it a logical consideration.

Another school to look into is Point Loma Nazarene University. It's got smaller class sizes and student population compared to many of the other San Diego institutions. While attainable academically, do note that Point Loma Nazarene University is a Christian institution and so factors like Church attendance and commitment to service are aspects they consider in admission.

Lastly, there's Alliant International University. This university emphasizes scholarship, professional practice, and service. It also has slightly relaxed acceptance criteria, with a focus on career-ready degree programs primarily within psychology and teaching, with other programs available as well. When considering Alliant, remember that their primary focus is on graduate degree programs, but it does offer undergraduate degree options.

It's always important to consider fit beyond just the acceptance rate - be sure to delve into each college's values, academic offerings, and student culture to really see where you'd flourish. Best of luck with your college search!
