SEAL Teams across Military Branches?

Howdy! I've heard a lot about the Navy SEALs and I am intrigued. Just curious, do other military branches have their own 'versions' of SEAL teams or is it exclusive to the Navy?

Yes, each branch of the U.S. military does have its own special operations units that are equivalent to the Navy SEALs.

1. The Army has the Special Forces, also known as the Green Berets, and the Rangers. The Green Berets are primarily responsible for unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, special reconnaissance, direct action, and counter-terrorism. Rangers are rapidly deployable light infantry forces capable of executing a variety of special operations missions.

2. Over in the Air Force, the Pararescuemen (PJs) and Combat Controllers (CCTs) stand out. PJs focus on personnel recovery and are trained to rescue and provide emergency medical treatment. CCTs are FAA-certified air traffic controllers and can establish air control zones and provide Air Traffic Control.

3. For the Marine Corps, their special operations unit is called Marine Raider Regiment, also known as MARSOC. The Marine Raider Regiment's primary mission is direct action, special reconnaissance, and foreign internal defense.

4. Lastly, the Coast Guard doesn't have a "Special Forces" unit per se, but they do have an elite unit known as the Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT). The MSRT is trained to be the first responder to potential terrorist threats, deny preemptive terrorist actions, execute security actions against non-compliant threats, perform advanced interdiction, and provide tactical maritime law enforcement and security.

5. The newest branch of the military, the Space Force, doesn't have a special operations unit equivalent to the SEALs, as its mission focuses on space operation matters.

While each branch does have its own special operations unit, the missions and training of these units can differ quite significantly, each unit having its own unique areas of focus and skill sets.
