Which US Military Branch Trains to Breathe Underwater?

Hey, I've heard that one of the US military branches has underwater-breathing as part of their training. Can't remember which one exactly. Can anyone help me figure this out and maybe let me know more about the training?

The U.S. military branch you're referring to is the Navy, particularly the Navy SEALs, they go through extensive training which includes being able to function underwater. A part of their training is Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training (BUD/S), which is notorious for its grueling intensity.

In fact, one of the hardest weeks during this training is known as 'Hell Week', during which recruits continuously train with minimal sleep for five and a half days straight. A significant portion of that training is underwater— including "drown-proofing", where trainees must learn to swim with their hands and feet bound, and "pool competency", which is the underwater swimming test.

Please be aware, however, that this is some of the most rigorous training in the entire U.S. military. Candidates must go through a demanding physical screening test before being accepted into the program, and even then, the dropout rate for BUD/S training is very high due to its difficulty. It's designed to physically and mentally challenge recruits to see if they can tolerate the demanding nature of the job itself.
