What's the toughest college to gain entrance to, in general?

Hey everyone, I'm in the middle of researching potential colleges for next year and I was wondering, in the broadest sense, which college is generally considered the hardest to get into across the whole country? I'm just curious - not looking to stress myself out!

The title of the "hardest college to get into" often falls to Stanford University, located in Stanford, California, due to its extremely low acceptance rate. As of 2024, Stanford's acceptance rate was around 4.3%, which is one of the lowest in the United States.

However, it's important to bear in mind that acceptance rate is not the sole indicator of how "hard" it is to get into a college.
