ROTC programs in California - widen the net for all military branches

Hello! California resident here, and I'm keen on the idea of ROTC. I want to keep my options open and look into programs for all military branches - Air Force, Army, Navy, etc. Does anybody know specifics about the available ROTC programs in Cali for all branches? Your help would be massively appreciated.

Sure, I'm glad to provide some details about ROTC programs for multiple branches in California. It's a great state for ROTC due to the large number of colleges and universities, many of which host and offer ROTC programs.

1. Army ROTC: Army ROTC programs are quite widespread. Larger universities, such as California State University and the University of California campuses host these programs. For instance, UCLA hosts the Bruin Battalion Army ROTC program, which is also open to students from neighboring universities.

2. Air Force ROTC: The Air Force ROTC programs are not as widespread as Army's, but they're still available in many schools. For example, Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and San Diego State University host Air Force ROTC programs.

3. Naval ROTC: The Naval ROTC, which also includes the Marine Corps, is available in universities such as the University of California, Berkeley and University of San Diego.

4. Space Force: As of now, Space Force does not have a standalone ROTC program. However, since it is under the Department of the Air Force, students interested in Space Force can join the Air Force ROTC and apply for a position in the Space Force after graduation.

Remember that being part of an ROTC program usually comes with a commitment to serve in the military after graduation. The length of this commitment varies depending on the military branch and scholarship status. Also, while ROTC programs are available in the universities I mentioned, students from nearby colleges that don't have ROTC programs can usually participate through crosstown agreements, so don't feel limited by the facilities available at your prospective schools. Hope this helps!
