Least Competitive Schools: Easiest Colleges to Get Into in California?

I'm a junior living in California hoping to stay in-state for college. I understand there are super competitive schools here, but I need a realistic list. So, can anybody provide a list of the top 10 easiest colleges to get into in California? Any help would be highly appreciated!

Absolutely, I'd be glad to help you curate a list of less competitive, yet quality schools in California. Keep in mind that there are many variables involved in college admission, and each school may weigh things differently. However, in general, the schools listed below are considered less selective. Here they are, in no particular order:

1. California State University - Bakersfield

2. California State University - Dominguez Hills

3. California State University - East Bay

4. California State University - Stanislaus

5. Humboldt State University

6. San Francisco State University

7. California State University - Northridge

8. Fresno State University

9. San Jose State University

10. San Diego State University

Do keep in mind that while these colleges may be less competitive, they still have minimum academic standards. For example, all of the CSU schools have a minimum GPA requirement for applicants — 2.5 for California residents and 3.0 for out-of-state students.

When considering these and other in-state options, be sure to explore the programs and opportunities each college offers and not just their acceptance rates. Finding the right college is about finding a good fit for your academic and personal needs.
