Toughest University to Enter in South Korea

Hi everyone, I'm interested in the Korean culture and considering doing my undergrad there. Just curious, which South Korean universities are notoriously hard to get admitted to and why?

South Korea has several highly competitive universities known for their rigorous admissions processes.

1. Seoul National University (SNU): Often recognized as the top university in South Korea. Known for their high standards and strict admission process, especially in disciplines like Engineering and Medicine. The admission rate is typically less than 20%.

2. Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST): Another highly competitive institution, known for its focus on STEM. KAIST is especially renowned for its research output and innovations. As such, it tends to attract a high amount of international competition.

3. Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH): A private research-based university that focuses primarily on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines. Established in 1986, it quickly rose to prominence and is known for having a competitive admission process.

4. Yonsei University: Considered one of the "SKY" (Seoul National, Korea, and Yonsei) universities often regarded as the most prestigious in the country. The acceptance rate is typically below 18%.
