What's the minimum height requirement for different military branches?

Hey everyone, I've been thinking about joining the military after I'm done with high school. I know each branch has its own physical requirements and I was wondering about the height requirements for each of them. I'm kind of on the shorter side, so I was hoping to see if anyone could help me with info on this?

Sure, I'd be happy to provide a run-down of the minimum height requirements for the different branches of the U.S. military. Do keep in mind that this info could change over time, so make sure to verify it with a recruiter when you're ready to enlist.

1. Army: The minimum height for both men and women in the Army is 60 inches, or 5 feet.

2. Navy: The Navy also requires a minimum height of 60 inches, or 5 feet, for both men and women.

3. Marine Corps: Similarly, the Marine Corps requires a minimum height of 60 inches, or 5 feet, for both men and women.

4. Air Force: The Air Force has the same standard too—both men and women must be at least 58 inches, or 4 feet 10 inches.

5. Coast Guard: The Coast Guard maintains a minimum height requirement of 60 inches, or 5 feet, for both men and women.

6. Space Force: Since the Space Force is a new branch, physical requirements, including height, have not been separately established yet. Those serving in the Space Force currently come from the Air Force, so it's likely that they would initially adopt similar standards.

Hope this answer was helpful and all the best on your journey! Remember that while physical requirements are part of the assessment to join the military, they're also looking at a range of other factors including aptitude, moral character, and education. Good luck!
