Which branch of the military operates the most number of planes?

Hey all, I'm currently a junior in high school and I've always been passionate about aviation. I'd love to possibly work with aircraft in the military after I graduate. Does anyone know which branch operates the most planes?

The United States Air Force operates the largest number of aircraft out of all branches of the military. This makes sense given their primary mission, which is to provide air support and conduct strategic bombings. Oftentimes, when people think about military aviation, they think about the Air Force.

However, it's also worth noting that the United States Navy has a significant number of aircraft, mainly for aircraft carriers and Marine Corps aviation. The Navy uses its aircraft primarily for sea-based operations, providing support for marine and naval movements.

Finally, it's also noteworthy that each branch offers unique experiences and opportunities in aviation. For example, you could fly helicopters in the Army, deliver supplies in large transport aircraft in the Air Force, pilot jets off aircraft carriers in the Navy, or even fly drones in the Army or Air Force. It would be helpful for you to research each branch to see which best aligns with your interests and career goals within the field of aviation.
