Hardest Degree in College

Hey everyone, I've been trying to plan out my potential majors for when I apply to colleges and I'm curious, what is usually considered the hardest degree at university? And why is it seen as such? Is it due to the rigorous coursework, the workload, or something else I haven't thought about?

The difficulty of a degree can vary drastically based on the individual's strengths, course load, and time management abilities. However, certain degrees are often associated with being very demanding. Among them, Engineering degrees, particularly those in Chemical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, are often cited for their rigorous coursework which often involve high-level maths, physics, and specific technical knowledge.

Another degree which is generally considered to be challenging is Physics. This is largely due to the advanced mathematical skills that the subject requires, including calculus and quantitative reasoning.

Medical degrees are also notoriously hard due to the considerable workload and long hours involved in studying, internships, and clinical practice, along with needing to constantly stay updated with new scientific findings and medical procedures.

Then there's Law, which involves a great amount of reading and the mastery of intricate legal knowledge. Moreover, Law degrees usually require a lot of written work, such as case studies, which can add to the workload.

Lastly, the field of Mathematics and Philosophy tends to be difficult due to the wide spectrum of complex theoretical concepts, as well as the analytical thinking and reasoning it involves.

Keep in mind that what can make a degree challenging can differ from one person to the next. A person who enjoys reading might not find a Law degree as challenging as someone who prefers more practical activities, for example. It's always best to choose a course of study based on your interests and future goals rather than just how difficult or easy it's perceived to be. After all, what one person may find hard, another may find intriguing and even enjoyable.
