What's the process to apply to A&T University?

Hey guys, I am new to this. Can anyone share with me the steps and requirements to apply to A&T University? I am not sure about things like GPA, extracurriculars, essays, and stuff like that. Thanks in advance!

Sure, let's go over that. North Carolina A&T State University (commonly referred to as A&T) has a fairly straightforward application process.

Step 1: Application

You'll need to fill out an application online via the Common Application, which becomes available on August 1.

Step 2: Transcripts

You'll need to send your high school transcripts to A&T. These should include all of your grades from freshman to junior year, and your grades from the first semester of senior year if you're applying Regular Decision.

Step 3: Test Scores

A&T is currently test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle. You can choose to submit your SAT or ACT scores, but they are not required, and your application will not be disadvantaged if you choose not to send them.

Step 4: Letters of Recommendation

A&T does not require letters of recommendation, but you can choose to submit up to three recommendations from teachers, counselors, coaches, mentors, and/or employers.

Now, for the requirements:

GPA: A&T looks for a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.

Extracurriculars: Just like any other university, A&T values involvement outside of class. While there's no hard and fast rule about how many or what kind of activities you should have, the general guidance is 8-10 extracurricular activities, with high involvement in a few. This could be participation in clubs, sports, volunteer work, part-time jobs, internships, or personal projects.

Essays: A&T does not require an essay as part of their application, but you can choose to include one to share more about your background, experiences, and goals.

I hope this helps clarify the application process for you. Best of luck with your application!
