Colleges and universities in San Antonio?

I was wondering if there's anyone here familiar with the educational scene in San Antonio? I'm starting to assemble my college list and San Antonio is appealing due to some family reasons. But, I've no clue where to start when looking at universities there. I'm interested in Environmental Sciences or Anthropology. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

San Antonio, Texas, is home to a diverse array of colleges and universities, each with unique communal and academic cultures.

Speaking of larger institutions, let's start with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). UTSA offers both Environmental Science and Anthropology as majors. UTSA's environmental science program is research-oriented, which provides a hands-on learning experience. Students have the opportunity to work with faculty on research projects and can choose to focus on either environmental biology or environmental geology.

Then you have Trinity University, which has a well-regarded undergraduate program where you could major in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. Trinity provides a liberal arts education, so you'll have the ability to explore a wide variety of subjects while still focusing on your key fields.

Lastly, St. Mary's University offers an Environmental Sciences program. This is a smaller university, which could mean smaller class sizes and more individual attention from professors.

Also noteworthy is San Antonio College (a 2-year institution), which offers an Anthropology A.A. if you're considering a transfer pathway.

While selecting a school, remember to take into account other factors such as class size, internships, student life, financial aid and scholarships, etc. Explore the schools' websites, connect with admissions, and, if possible, visit the campuses. Good luck with your search!
