Are there career planning tools included with the PSAT score report?

Hey everyone, I'm just curious if, when you get your PSAT scores back, there are any tools or resources that come with it to help you plan out potential career paths? I feel like I remember hearing something about that, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to figure out how seriously to take the test and if it's worth it for the extra resources. Thanks!

Hello there! Yes, the PSAT score report does come with access to career planning tools. Specifically, students are given access to My College QuickStart, which includes a feature called MyRoad. MyRoad provides personality tests and career exploration resources that can help students understand the types of careers that may suit their interests and strengths.

However, remember that while these tools can provide helpful insights, they should be considered as a starting point in your career exploration journey, not the final word. It can be quite beneficial to pair these tools with conversations with your school counselor, career days, internships, and other experiential opportunities.

Regarding how seriously to take the PSAT, it's good practice for the SAT and can also qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship program, so there are multiple benefits to giving it your best effort. Good luck!
