Location of Baker University, Kansas

I'm considering applying to Baker University in Kansas, but I'm unsure about where it's located within the state. Can someone give me a general idea about its location, and more importantly, what the surrounding areas are like? Is it more rural or urban?

Baker University is located in Baldwin City, Kansas, which is in the northeastern part of the state. It's approximately 45 minutes southwest of Kansas City. Hence, while the university itself is in a more rural, small-town setting, it's relatively close to a metropolitan area.

Baldwin City is quaint and has a charming feel, characterized by its brick streets, local shops, and small-town hospitality. Its population is around 5,000, so it's not a bustling, large city but provides a relaxed and community-oriented atmosphere.

That being said, being within close proximity to Kansas City offers access to city amenities such as music venues, shopping districts, professional sports games, art museums, and a diverse food scene whenever you feel the need for some suburban or city life experiences. It kind of offers the best of both worlds—small-town charm with urban accessibility.

Lastly, for outdoor enthusiasts, there are several parks and lakes near Baldwin City for outdoor pursuits. So, there's something for everyone around Baker University.
