Inquiring About Liberal Arts Colleges in Illinois

Hey everyone, I'm currently researching potential colleges for my senior year and I have a specific interest in liberal arts. I was wondering if there are any strong liberal arts colleges in Illinois? Lately, I've been loving the idea of staying somewhat local.

Absolutely, there are several strong liberal arts colleges in Illinois.

First, there's Knox College located in Galesburg, Illinois. Knox is known for offering its students a quality liberal arts education with a focus on interdisciplinary learning and independent research. The college offers more than 60 areas of study, from anthropology and art, to chemistry and computer science. Also, it provides ample opportunities for undergraduate research and study abroad.

Carthage College, in Kenosha, just over the border in Wisconsin, is also worth considering. It offers a strong liberal arts curriculum, and has particular strengths in social sciences and humanities. The campus is located right on Lake Michigan, which provides great natural beauty and recreational opportunities.

Lake Forest College, in Lake Forest, Illinois, might be another strong fit. The college offers a wide range of majors and minors in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Lake Forest is especially known for its strong programs in business, communications, and psychology. It's also located close to Chicago, providing students with numerous internship and cultural opportunities.

Finally, there's Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. Known for programs in the sciences, particularly nursing and pre-medical, Illinois Wesleyan also offers robust programs in the humanities and social sciences.

Each of these colleges provides a unique setting and different strengths, so I'd highly recommend visiting (if possible) and exploring their course catalogues to see which one could be the best fit for you.
