Which military branch has a connection with The Citadel?

I'm considering The Citadel for my post-high school education. I've read that it has a military college model, but I'm not sure which branch of the military it is associated with. Can someone help clarify this?

The Citadel, also known as The Military College of South Carolina, does have a strong military ethos as you noted. However, it is not officially tied to a specific branch of the United States military. Instead, The Citadel provides officer training for all branches of the military through its ROTC programs.

Students there have the opportunity to participate in the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps ROTC upon enrollment. Essentially, your experience at The Citadel can be tailored to suit whichever branch of the military you're most interested in pursuing a career in.

Just keep in mind that participation in an ROTC program doesn't obligate a student to serve in the military after graduating, unless they've taken a scholarship. But if a military career is your goal, these programs will prepare you well. They combine military training with your academic studies, provide scholarships, and you're commissioned as an officer upon graduation.

In conclusion, while The Citadel isn't aligned with a specific military branch, it does offer comprehensive ROTC programs for those interested in pursuing a military career.
